Tony Daley (Aston Villa)

Tony Daley born 1967.

He was my first ever true football hero. I can remember being amazed at the sight of Tony just tearing past midfielders, one after another, darting inside and out and then doing the same to any defenders that could keep up. I swear he actually just used to hover above the ground.

The reason I did and still would, fight off a football team to wear the number 7 shirt in the changing rooms on a school or saturday side pitch.

Tony played for Villa during the years of 1985–1994. An abundance of skill mixed with an eye for a goal helped him to score 40 goals during this time. Not only that but he also had the best hair to ever be seen in Claret and Blue.
